Ingle International, in partnership with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), has been awarded the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s Collaborative Research and Development (NSERC CRD) Grant.
The NSERC CRD Grant is a five-year federal research opportunity that supports well-defined projects undertaken by university researchers and their private-sector partners; it was awarded to the two partners in early 2016 for projects lasting up until 2020.
The research team consists of Ingle International’s research group, business units, and product development team alongside UOIT professor Dr. Fletcher Lu, as well as Ph.D. and Master’s students.
The two organizations are excited to make this announcement and are looking forward to the next five years.
“The focus of the research and development project is on content processing that covers predictive model building with built-in capacity for security alerts and fraud detection,” says Daniel Sin, Head of Research at Ingle International. He adds: “We believe the project will pioneer the use of machine intelligence in building models for content processing, including targeted delivery of security, fraud, and health alerts, case analysis, and business intelligence reports in the insurance industry.”
The grant will allow the two partners to conduct innovative industry and tech research in order to provide pioneering products and services for clients and lead the travel, insurance, and health care industries.
“This project will help build Canadian research expertise in computational science and business analytics, while supporting innovation and competitiveness in Canadian industry,” says Dr. Fletcher Lu, Principal Investigator on the CRD grant.
“In addition, the project supports practical education with both financial and intellectual support for Canadian university students through a generous matching financial contribution by Ingle and Ingle’s alert and fraud case modelling,” Dr. Lu explains.
Further to predictive modelling, the project will ultimately aim to give clients, members or groups, and travellers access to artificial intelligence learning as well as accurate, relevant, and timely information and services. Ingle International and UOIT are committed to providing industry-leading practices and cutting-edge products for clients through this collaboration.
